The filter is designed to adjust and test the effects of light polarization and simplifies AE (automatic exposure) or manual exposure modes without the need for exposure compensation. The filter moves vertically from the shooting position in front of the lens, without changing the rotation of the polarization, in order to close the small square window in which the measuring cell is located above the lens mount. The polarization effect is observed when viewed directly through the filter above the top of the camera (and not through the eyepiece of the camera rangefinder). After determining the polarization effect and measuring, the filter is returned to the lower position in front of the lens. The polarizing filter is compatible with all 7 lenses and is mounted by bayonet on the front of the lens frame in the same way as the lens hoods supplied with each lens.
