Mamiya U

Mamiya U was introduced in 1981. This is one of the latest compact 35mm cameras released by Mamiya. The silver version was released a few months after the black version. An autofocus version, Mamiya U AF, was released in 1983.

Properties

- Uses 2xAAA batteries
- It uses a zone focusing system with four distance settings: 1m, 1.5m, 3m (3ft, 5ft, 10ft) and infinity, selectable by rotating the tab on the lens ring.
- A cut-out window on the lens shows focus distance icons. One person for 1m, a couple for 1.5m, a trio for 3m and a mountain for infinity.
- The electronically controlled shutter has a shutter speed of 1/8 to 1/500.
- An underexposure warning tone with a red LED is heard in the viewfinder.
- Daylight flash recommended up to 1.5
- The timer has a 12 second delay.
- Use the slide switch on the top of the camera to open them, turning on the camera.
- Manual rewinding and rewinding of the film.
