- WeinCell is a revolutionary new zinc air battery designed to replace environmentally unfriendly (banned) mercury batteries.
- Because of their extremely stable output curve, mercury cells have been used in many cameras and exposure meters to ensure that exposure readings are as accurate as possible. But disposing of mercury batteries has become an environmental issue, and a growing number of states and other governments are responding by banning the use of the cells entirely.
- Alkaline substitutes do not help
- Some battery manufacturers are now offering alkaline batteries as replacements for their discontinued mercury cells. In most cases, the replacement does not have the same voltage as the mercury battery being replaced (usually 1.5 V instead of 1.35). And the unstable power output inherent in alkaline batteries can lead to exposure errors of up to 2 stops! Only WeinCells provide the accurate voltage and stable output of mercury batteries.
- WeinCell is available to replace each of the following mercury batteries: PX625/PX13, PX675 and RM400. The performance of each is identical to the replaceable battery, just what you need to start shooting with these classic cameras again.
